In reply to Ernie's message about "Linn" cemetery I sent this on to Galen
Wilson. His reply to me follows:
Carolyn,
I've not been familiar with that cemetery. It stands to reason that it's
our Lynns. The location is correct. Absolum Lynn died in 1811, and he must
be buried somewhere! I'll bet that's it.
The Lynns spelled the name with a "y" as far back as I have ever seen. So I
couldn't say how the "Linn" name got on the cemetery. There are two
explanations. One is that someone messed up in spelling it once upon a time
and it got copied over and over. The other is that it's not the same
family, but I've not seen the name "Linn" in old county records.

Hi Galen,
Was wondering if you know anything about this? Is this "our" Lynns?

Subject: [INGIBSON] LINN Cemetery, White River Twp.
Hello All,
In White River Twp, Gibson Co, IN there was an old pioneer burial plot on
a
high river bluff on the South side of the Patoka River, overlooking
the
town of Patoka, IN. On maps it is marked as LINN cemetery. Seeking ANY
information on who may have been buried there, was there ever a stone or
marker, and exactly where the cemetery was located.
Ernie
