Hi List,
I've been puzzling over one Gibson county family for several years.
Owen C. Jones married Permelia Malone in Gibson county August 3, 1849.
I could never find anything on them after 1860, but then in the 1870 Gibson
county census I found Owen, but Permelia appears to have been deceased before
that time. I did not find any of them in the online cemetery records. They
seemed to be living in, or around, Owensville.
Their children, from census records were:
1) Seneca V., born in 1851; married Elizabeth ____.
2) Ann L., born in 1853;
3) James A., born in 1858;
4) Mary, born in 1861;
5) Martha, born in 1864;
6) Alva, born in 1866.
I cannot identify any of these children except Seneca after 1880 and cannot
identify many of them in 1880. The girls were probably married before that
time. If so, who did they marry?
Seneca married Elizabeth ____ before 1877? Who was she? They were the parents of:
1) Mary, born in 1878;
2) Lucy, born in 1883;
3) Alva C., born in 1884;
4) Archie, born in 1887;
5) Marshall, born in 1889;
6) Elsie, born in 1892;
7) Harvey, born in 1894;
8) John, born in 1897;
9) Henry, born in 1897.
Does anyone have any info on any of these Jones family? With that many children
it seems there should be several connections to other Gibson county families.
Any help with chasing down any of these families will be most appreciated and if
any of you happen to be a descendant I have at least a portion of your ancestry
back several generations and will be only too happty to exchange info.
Thanks,
Bill Hunter
