Hi List -
I just wanted to tell you about an experience we had in Gibson County, Indiana last week.
We were passing through on a circle trip through the midwest [we live in North Carolina]
and we stopped for coffee at the Princeton McDonalds. I enjoy doing family research all
over the midwest, and do some in Gibson and Posey Counties of Indiana. We were ahead of
our schedule that morning, and I asked my hubby if we could run out to the Maumee Cemetery
and take some photos. We were not sure how to get there, so I saw an older couple eating
breakfast at a table nearby, and asked if they could give us directions. The man knew
exactly how to find the cemetery and gave us good directions how to get there. It was
real helpful, as we would have made the corner West of Johnson and missed the cemetery,
had he not explained how to find it. We took a few photos and continued on our trip
North. I was happy just to find the stone of Cora Armstrong Viets Harmon. Cora is the
dau. of Charle!
s C. Armstrong from Griffin, Posey County, IN. Rufus Aubrey Harmon was her second
husband. He is buried at Maumee also. I have more info. on them to share if interested.
Anyway, the folks in Gibson County are real nice. My thanks to the guy in the McDonalds
that day.
