Hi everyone
Well, I made a boo boo when I said that WPA hadn't done the Gibson Co, IN Births.
Joe Weiss pointed out that the births WERE done by WPA - guess senility or forgetfulness
made me forget that (grin).
Not only had I forgotten that WPA had in fact done these birth transcriptions, but when
he gave me the microfiche number and I searched some of my harddrives I found I had been
transcribing these same microfiche back in 1998 and my excel database was still intact --
and that was about the time my microfiche reader broke and I never got fixed again. I had
also found the html page I had made from this database of info, and I guess because I
hadn't done anymore of these (birth transcriptions) I even forgot I had put these few
(over 700) online at my website (duh......).
So if anyone is searching for births and not finding them online, see if your local
library or LDS library can borrow/rent for you fiche F3931 and F3932 which is WPA's
transcription of Gibson Co, IN Births. He said a company also made many years ago a CD
that has this same info on it so you might be able to find that CD for sale too.
Now that Joe has helped me "remember" that I had purchased these microfiche of
births, I will just have to go down to the library and borrow their reader and start
adding to those birth transcriptions AGAIN.
What was so weird was when I saw that I had already done over 700 births from those
microfiche (and put online at my website), the counter showed that since I had cleared it
back to 0, that this particular page had gotten almost 15,000 hits -- so it MUST be
popular and shows that the Births are something I need to start doing again so everyone
can find this info.
Thanks Joe for helping me get my memory restored.
My best,
Judy M.
