Several years ago I purchased these C.D's through Heritage Quest., called
Generations Archives.
The deaths were from 1800 to 1941, not all the deaths were recorded.
Birth's were from 1850 to 1920 and not all the births in all counties were
recorded.
Marriages were from 1850 to 1920 and all of them were not recorded and it is
a very confusing disk.
If you belong to Ancestry. Com. under Deaths and marriages you can find the
ones from Indiana available.
These apparently are about the same as what I find on these C.D's.
I also purchased the 1850 Indiana census from Treemaker and also the 1860.
C.D. This one is not very good. The 1870 Indiana census index is very good.
The best one of the bunch is the 1880 U.S. census put out by the LDS church
which you can purchase on line or by phone. This one has an index for the whole
United States, providing that the census taker didn't miss the family. It is
very easy to use and is printable
by surnames for a county. I have done many of these for Gibson County for
myself. Since my ancestors were the McGregors, Woods, Martin's etc. I have a
lots of surnames to sort out.
Yes, I spent a lot of money on these C.D's, but at that time there were not a
lot of data available on line and I didn't know as much as I do now about
genealogy.
I really would like to make a return trip to Gibson County next year, at
least not when you have quite so much rain like I had on my previous trip.
The library was very helpful and so was Ernie.
