Hello,
As part of our on-going Pioneer Cemeteries project, we have been searching
for the old McClure cemetery which was located somewhere on the old McClure
farm in the early 1800's in Patoka Township Section 13, T2S; R11W. An old
timer told me he remembered it in a woods West of Hansen Mfg. in the
Northeast corner of that section. Perhaps if that cemetery is located it
will answer some of your questions on the whereabouts of some of the
McClure family, but we have been unable to find it so far.
Both Tartt's History of Gibson County and Stormont's History of Gibson
County have information on the early McClure families in the county.

Looking for any information on Ann McClure. She was born Ann Knox in
Co.
Donegal, Ireland, 1820. The family lived in Gibson Co., Patoka twp in
1860. Her husband was James McClure. They had six children: Frank, William
J., Richard, Mary Elizabeth, Martha Ann, Rebecca Jane. Martha Ann and Rebecca
were born in Jackson Co. The family is in the 1860 census for Gibson
Co. I believe Ann
died in Gibson Co. bet. 1860-69. James and daughters later lived at Effingham,
IL (1870). Is there a book listing families in this county at that time?
Leads of any kind would be appreciated. Would like to find out when and where
Ann died. Thanks.
