Morning list,
Is anyone on this list a descendant of Samuel and Ellen (Hunter) Spillman? They
were in Gibson county before 1815 when thier oldest son was born and some of
their many children remained in Gibson county, others moved, primarily to
Warrick county.
Is anyone in contact with anyone descended from Samuel and Ellen? Are there
others who are working on families into whom the Spillman children married who
may have information of descendants? Any information will help.
Their children who survived to maturity were:
1) Camillus Chesterfield "Chester," married (1) Mahala Williams; married (2)
Freelove H. Traverse; married (3) Sarah Jane Gilpin; married (4) Julia Ann
(Fleenor) Almos.
2) James, married Margaret Jane Minnis.
3) John Hunter, married (1) Rebecca Kelley; married (2) Susan Ann Hudson.
4) Sanders F., married (1) Mary Ann Minnis; married (2) Sabra A. Townsend;
married (3) Margaret Pritchett.
5) Jeremiah, married Elizabeth Harmon.
6) Elizabeth,
7) Rhoda,
8) Richard, married (1) Minerva Frances Riddle; married (2) Margaret Jane
Cochran.
9) Mary Ann, married Niscazer (? Spelling uncertain) Harmon.
10) Samuel K., married Nancy Hanks.
11) Sarah S.,
Any information anyone has on the ancestry of Samuel or anything about the
descendants of Samuel and Ellen will be helpful.
If you are a descendant I have your Hunter ancestry back to Switzerland in the
mid 1600's and will be only too happy to exchange.
Thanks,
Bill Hunter
