The Fulton County Library is in the process of putting all of the Tombaugh
collection online. Judge Wendell Tombaugh and his wife Jean spent over a
quarter of a century collecting, compiling, indexing, and annotating
Northern Indiana genealogy. Their work is excellent. An example of their
extra touch would be my ggrandfather's cemetery plot record was annotated as
follows:
(Note: Noah Heeter, born 12, Sep, 1832 in Montgomery
Co.,
Ohio to George & Elizabeth Heeter, natives of Penn.
& Va.
Noah married 1854 to Susanna Clayton, also born in
Mont-
gomery Co., Ohio.. They removed about three years
later to
Wabash Co., IN.., and later removed to Fulton Co.,
Indiana.
they had five children: Mary Ellen, Warren, Sarah
Alice, who
married Reuben McIntire, Laura Belle, and Martha A.
Heeter.
Noah Heeter, age 46, and Susanna, 45, were residents
of
Henry twp when the 1880 Enumeration was taken in
Fulton Co.
Their household at that time included Sarah 19 and
Laura

Judge and Mrs. Tombaugh still reside in their home on Pontiac street in
Rochester across from the library.
