GLEN "GOONEY" OVERMYER Thursday pleaded before Justice WM. EWING to cruelty
to animals, when he left his horse tied to a hitch rack in the city
overnight, and was fined $14.55. #
ACCIDENTS
MOTORISTS WANTED
Warrants were issued Monday for the arrest of JOE AARON of Fulton, HANS
PAULSON of Leiters, and ALBERT JACKSON of South Bend. AARON and JACKSON are
charged with driving cars without proper lights, while PAULSON is accused of
speeding. #
ANOTHER MISHAP
LOUS METZGER who lives north of Rochester, had a narrow escape from serious
injury Sunday on the cement road near Peru. His machine was struck by a car,
and in order to avoid being turned over, METZGER drove his machine down a 16
foot embankment. No one was injured by the car was badly damaged. #
HITS HORSE
ROBERT MOORE had a minor accident Sunday evening which was indirectly caused
by the PAULSON accident Saturday. Three horses, owned by JACK HAIMBAUGH got
thru the hole in the fence made by PAULSON and MOORE hit one doing some
damage to the car. #
BOY HIT BY CAR
JOHN LEONARD, son of Mrs. LUCILE LEONARD while riding a bicycle Sunday upon
South Madison St., was struck and run over by a car driven by BOYD BIDWELL.
The car passed over the lad without hurting him, but he bicycle was wrecked.

A car driven by HARVEY McFEELY, of Culver, was run into by a large car at the
fair grounds Sunday. McFEELY's party were on their way home from RHODA's
west of town. None was injured by his car was badly damaged. #
ALLEN MILLER, son of MEL MILLER, was badly bruised Monday morning when struck
by an automobile driven by ELLIS GREER, son of CLAY GREER. The MILLER lad
was on a bicycle and turned directly in front of the car. He was carried to
a physician's office, badly frightened but not seriously injured. GREER, who
drives to Rochester to attend high school, is said to be under the age,
required by law to drive a machine. The accident occurred in front of
DOVICHI's. ##
BUGGY UPSETS
When Mrs. GEORGE ALBRECHT's horse became frightened Sunday afternoon near the
fair grounds, the animal turned sharply, upsetting the buggy, and dislocating
her right shoulder. She also suffered sever bruises, but was resting easy
Monday morning. #
CAR DAMAGED, NO ONE HURT
HANS PAULSON, of Delong, ROBERT ANDERSON and LOVELL McINTIE had a narrow
escape Saturday evening when the Paulson car, in which they were traveling at
a rapid pace, went into a ditch and struck a telephone pole.
The car was going south just beyond the A.J. HAIMBAUGH farm, when the
accident occurred. The machine hit the pole so hard that it was broken off
and the car passed under it, sideswiping the fence. The car was badly
damaged, but none of the occupants was hurt except for a few minor cuts and
bruises. #
SMALL FIRE
A blaze at the H. E. HARTUNG home, 219 No. Jefferson St., early Monday
morning did slight damage. A small hole was burned in the roof. Sparks from
the chimney started it. #
