Because the Kokomo trades council permitted the use of its hall for a meeting
of the Peoples' council, J.S. BLACKRIDGE has requested the trades body to
move.

Victoria Reading Circle
The first meeting of the Victoria Reading Circle for the new year, was held
at the home of Mr.s E.C. MERCER on West Seventh St., this afternoon. The
reading of the by-laws, an address by the president and roll call were
features of the program. A vocal solo was rendered by Miss DOROTHY ORR. The
next meeting will be held in two weeks at the home of Mrs. GEORGE BLACK.
Several new members may be added during the coming winter. #
Presbyterian Missionary Society
Members of the Missionary Society of the Presbyterian church were entertained
by Mrs. MARY ROTH at her home on West 11th St., this afternoon. A paper was
read by Mrs. O.M. HENDRICKSON on " A Forward Look," and one by Miss HANNAH
McCAUGHEY on "Industrial Work in Africa." #
Baptist Missionary Society Meets
The Missionary Society of the Baptist church was entertained at the church
this afternoon by Mrs. CLEM LEONARD and Mrs. J. A. KARN. The devotional
exercises were led by Mrs. MARGARET EWING and the lesson by Mrs. C. K. PLANK.
The subject of the meeting was "Central America -- It's Progress in
Missions." Refreshments were served and Red Cross Sewing done during the
social hour. #
S.C.R. Club
Miss GRETCHEN PASCHALL, 418 N. Jefferson St., entertained the members of the
S.C.R. club Tuesday evening at six o'clock dinner. Miss KATE KIRKENDALL of
South Bend was a guest. The club will be entertained by Mrs. DEAN VICKREY
next week. #
Guest of O. B. SMITHS
HERBERT A. GRAHAM, of Elkhart, inspector for the grand lodge, F. @ A. M., is
the guest of Mr. and Mrs. OMAR B. SMITH, Cor. Pontiac and 8th Sts. while in
the city. Mr. SMITH is the senior deacon of the grand lodge. #
Entertains Friends
Miss BELVA MILLER entertained a few friends at her home on Main St, Tuesday
evening in honor of Miss MILDRED LEITER of Mishawaka and Mrs, HARRY SPIEER of
Sidel, Ill. Light refreshments were served. #
Tri Kappas Entertained
Mrs. JOHN ALLISON, South Main St, was hostess to the Tri Kappas at their
regular meeting Tuesday evening. The members met at the library this
afternoon to sew. #
Young Mothers Club Entertained
Mrs. MAX BAILEY was hostess to the Young Mothers cub at her home south of the
city this afternoon. Refreshments were served.
