Hello, everyone
Well, it's finally finished. I moved the last files to the new website last
night, and all of the content from Randy's site is now located at
www.ingenweb.org/infranklin/. I've had lots of comments about how easy it
was to navigate the previous site, so I hope you'll find the new website
just as easy (or hopefully easier!) to use. Suggestions for improvement are
always welcome. I've been concentrating on making sure all the links work,
but I might have missed some; please tell me if you find one that doesn't.
Now I'd like to ask for your assistance. Do you have some Franklin County
material that would be of interest to other researchers? Do you own a book
that you might consider volunteering to do lookups in? Or maybe you have
some old photos that you could scan and share with us? (If you don't know
who the people are, we'll start a "Who Am I?" page!) Are you a subscriber
to the Brookville Democrat newspaper and would be willing to contribute the
obituaries from the paper?
We need new content! I'm working on a few projects myself-a list of World
War I draft registrations, some additional cemetery listings, birth
records-but I hope some of you can make contributions, too. How about
submitting some family group sheets or a story about your Franklin County
family? I'll soon have a page on the website that will tell you how to send
us your genealogy files in a consistent format, so watch for a new "Franklin
County Genealogies" link coming soon.
Unlike those sites that make you buy a subscription, this is totally free
genealogy and depends entirely on volunteers for its information. Almost
any Franklin County genealogical information is acceptable and welcome.
Please help!
