I hope I am not too late for the roll call. I am researching about Calder Haymond, his
daughter Elizabeth and her husband William Snodgrass.
They all came to Indiana prior to Indiana becoming a state. William later went on to
Fulton County, Indiana after Elizabeth died where he is buried.
I am trying to find more hard evidence where Calder Haymond is buried. K.A. Haymond says
Calder died March 7, 1815. Did someone write this date in the probate file
or is there a tombstone where Calder is buried. My best guess is that he is buried at the
homestead in Franklin County since he had land based on the vital records
at the courthouse which he most likely got from the U.S. Government for military service.
D. Piepho says that Calder is buried in Whitewater township of
Franklin County but no source is given about that. If anyone can come forward and reveal
more information, please do so.
D. Piepho also says that Calder daughter, Elizabeth died about 1815 in Vernon Township of
Hancock County, Indiana. Where is this information coming from?
If someone knows, please pass it on. I appreciate everyone effort to help, especially all
Haymond researchers.
I realize how difficult it is to find information so early in time and it makes it
difficult to find results. But don't forget, never give up.
Thank you.
