Were there a newspaper or funeral home in Franklin County in 1943.
Thanks!
Ken
Just from memory as a?Brookville kid in?the mid-50's -
Newspaper - yes. The? Brookville Democrat and Brookville American were published weekly.?
Seems the publishing company was "Whitewater Publications".? Editor I remember
was Raymond Everett.? But, the Franklin County Library has a pretty complete file of the
weekly newspapers, way back into the 1800's.? They are?very helpful in the genealogy
dept.?
Funeral homes - I remember two in Brookville, Clevenger (now Cook) and I think Moster (now
Phillips and Meyers)?were owners.? Also, there has been a Moster mortuary in Laurel
(Franklin County) for a long, long time. .?
Hope this gets you started - someone with facts at hand can quote, or you will make me go
look this up in my 2008 Brookville BiCentenial History book.
