Hello
I thought I'd update you on what's happening with plans for the reunion. We
have several speakers lined up, including the genealogy librarians from some
surrounding counties (Dearborn and Union for sure, maybe others) who will be
explaining the genealogy resources available in their counties and how they
can help.
Also, Dr. Roberta Glaser from Michigan will be demonstrating how to put
together a "Heritage Cookbook" for your family's heirloom recipes.
Everybody has some-those recipes that Grandma used to make for family
dinners, and that Mom (and probably you, too!) tried and tried to duplicate
but never could get quite right. Well.let's get them together and make a
cookbook!
Just email me those treasured recipes handed down by your family, along with
a story or anecdote about the person who made it or why it's special to you.
Photos are also welcome! We'll put them into book form and have them
available at the reunion.
And speaking of books, don't forget the brand new Fairfield book authored by
the library's Julie Schlesselman along with Marilyn Gausman. It will be
available for purchase at the reunion, and I hear it has a wealth of
information for those of you who have Fairfield family or an interest in
that town now buried under the lake. Don't know about Fairfield? Go to
www.fairfieldindiana.com <
http://www.fairfieldindiana.com/> for one man's
recollections and perspective. It's a very entertaining website and will
make you want to get the book and learn more!
More news will be coming when I have it. Please send your reunion
registration in the next couple of weeks if you can. I need to get the
t-shirts ordered in August, and I won't be ordering any extras. If you want
one, you'll have to tell me soon. The embroidered logo looks great!
Hope you're planning to come!
Karen
