Boy this list has been quiet, so here's a couple of new things....
BTW we now have gone over the 150 mark in people subscribed to this list.
We have well over 400 genealogists with queries on the web site.
Bonnie Stokes of West Harrison, IN has offered to assist in getting the
obits up to date on the website. This is much appreciated. My time has
been very limited with several personal and internet projects of late.
Bonnie will be a big asset to the obit project.
I have several new pictures of historical sites to get up on the website
soon (hopefully).
Mark Tebbe of Lebanon, Ohio has made a look up offer for those with families
that lived in the St Mary's/Oak Forest area of Franklin County. Here's his
explanation....
--------------
I would like to volunteer to do look-ups for St. Mary's of the Rock
(Haymond,IN) / Oak Forest, IN. I got the copy of the "St. Mary's of the
Rock & St. Cecilia 150 Years Celebration 1844-1994". The book contains a
history of the St. Mary's of the Rock Catholic parish and St. Cecilia
parish. There are many references to families from the early years to the
present.
------------
Thanks to Mark we will also have a St Mary's Cemetery listing shortly on the
website.
Has everybody visited the Indiana Pioneer Cemeteries Restoration Project
website and offered your signature to go towards legislation in Indiana to
protect our pioneer cemeteries. There are several pending bills in the
State Legislature that could help our cause, but we need signatures of not
only those who still live in Indiana but those who live elsewhere and have
families buried in Indiana. There is a downloadable petition on the website
and an address to send it to our state coordinator. Time is of essence,
because, the INPCRP will be called to testify in Indianapolis as soon as
those bills come up. If you need the website address let me know.
Thanks to everyone for your help. Maybe it is time to get the website
cranked up again.....now back to the wrestling ring :o)
