Larry,
I'm descended from the William Vail (b. 18 December 1821) who married
Ann [Aletta?]
Moore (b. 25 October 1831), through their first child Walter Scott
Vail (b.1850), all of
whom you show in the 1850 census for Salt Creek Township.
William Vail and Ann Moore were married in Salt Creek Township on 7
March 1848 by John H. Davis, minister of the Church of Christ. The
fact that Ann was only 16 when they married would lead me to believe
that the Moore family was living in close proximity to William Vail at
the time. The maps put on the web by Randy may indicate a "Mohr"
family living in the township. Since William Vail allegedly was a
teacher as well as a farmer, it wouldn't surprise me if Ann Moore was
one of his students prior to their marriage.
If you run across anything else, PLEASE send it along. Anything on
the parents of Ann Moore Vail would be greatly appreciated. I am
presently at a minor (hopfully) road block on her.
Thank you for the help.
