The following is a list of Franklin County, IN residents who wrote
affidavits in support of a pension application of William WILSON, b. abt.
1792, NC. These documents were obtained from the National Archives.
Stephen MAPLE, of lawful age was a member of Captain Fredrich SHOULTZ
company of US volunteers in 1812 and states that William WILSON was a
member of Captain John BRISON's company in the War of 1812. Dated 11 June
1872.
Stephen MAPLE, age 66, a resident of Rush County, declared that he has
known William WILSON since 1811 and at the time of the War of 1812 was
living within three miles of his residence. Two companies were formed in
Western Franklin County, one by Capt. HUFF and the other by Capt. John
BRISON. James BRISON was a brother to John BRISON and served as a Lt. in
Capt HUFF's company. Wm WILSON served at Fort Malden and Corvis? block
house. Dated 6 Dec 1860.
James BRISON and John WILLSON testify to the service record of Wm WILSON to
support a bounty land application. Dated 14 Jan 1856.
Thomas GIFFORD, M.D., testifies that Comfort WILSON from Laurel, Franklin
Co., IN is the widow of Wm WILSON who died about the 28th day of August,
1875. Dated 27 Jun 1879.
Elizabeth C. COOPER age 73, of Franklin County testifies that she has known
Comfort WILSON since 1817 and knows that Comfort is the widow of Wm WILSON.
Dated 27 Jun 1879.
Nancy GEORGE, age 77, of Peppertown, Franklin Co., IN testifies that she
was at the wedding of Comfort and William WILSON in March 1818. Dated 30
Jun 1879.
