quakers were exempt from war unless they were ' kicked out ' for some reason . I
read this distiction often led to conflicts with neighbors who did fight

Gab, Thank you so much, I didn't have that info. I don't know if he was in
the Revolutionary War or not. But he was a Quaker. Does the Quaker religion
allow their members to fight in wars? I sure don't know. Maybe someone else
will know.

Subject: (FranklinCoIN) OVERMAN for Marilyn
Was researching Indiana Quaker records for some info on my MOORMAN /
MORMAN & I found this info ;
OVERMAN
Settled Whitewater prior to 1809
Ephraim & Rachel Overman
Jesse Overman
Eli Overman
Also --> Indiana genealogy : Articles appearing in the " Indianapolis
Sunday Star " 6-26-1926 thru 1-25-1931
Nathan Overman born 1-4-1759 . died 4-23-1818 son of Isaac married in
Pasquotank county , North Carolina 1784 . Did Nathan Overman render
service during the Revolution ? I think he was a quaker .
