Fall Genealogy Jamboree
EVERYONE WELCOME -- Beginner or Expert
The Southwest Butler County Genealogical Society is hosting a Genealogy Seminar to be
held at the Parrish Auditorium, Hamilton Campus of Miami University, Hamilton, Ohio, on
Saturday, October 5, 2002, 8:00 A.M. -- 4 P.M.
The keynote speaker is Tom Stander, a noted Butler County historian. Mr. Stander is an
instructor at Southern Ohio College in Woodlawn, a member of the Board of Trustees of the
Butler County Historical Society, Board of Trustees of the Morgan Township Historical
Society, Sons of Union Veterans, Son of Confederate Veterans, Sons of the American
Revolution, Association for Gravestone Studies, Ohio Postal Historical Society, and
Indiana Postal Historical Society. Mr. Stander will speak on "Fleshing Out Your
Ancestors".
Speakers and topics will include:
Robert Rau, German genealogy specialist and volunteer LDS Family Center,
speaking on "German Genealogy" and "Researching German Ancestors in
Alsace-Lorraine"
Dorothy Limbach, Telecommunication at Wright State University,
speaking on "Beginning Genealogy" and "Organizing Your
Records"
Skip Churchill, teacher of genealogy at the Raymond Walters Branch, University of
Cincinnati,
volunteer at the Norwood LDS Library,
speaking on "How to Use the LDS Libraries", "How to Use the LDS
Website"
Karen Beiser, of the Cincinnati Public Library,
speaking on "Finding Your Great-Great Grandmother"
Albert Hallenberg, from the Cincinnati Public Library,
speaking on "New Techniques for a New Census (1930)"
Tom Stander, speaking on "Using the State Archives"
