Have you tried Lane Public Library in Oxford, Ohio for the Fenton name in 1895?
I have heard that they have extensive records! It is worth a try!

I am searching for information on a William SIMPSON who was a brother to my
3rd gr grmor, Mary (Simpson) CLARKSON who lived at Mt. Carmel IN. I don't
have much to go on, and no firm dates, as what I have on him is gleaned from
old correspondance. He would have been born prob. in the 1780's and prob. in
NH. He married in Maine to Miss Betsy WHITCOMB. They went West to either
Butler Co OH or Franklin Co IN. They had a daughter, Mary, who married a
FENTON. I didn't find this marriage in Franklin Co IN pre-1850. Mary
(Simpson) Fenton had a son, John S. Fenton, who in 1895 returned to Maine to
visit his cousin's. I assume that William Simpson had died, or moved on, by
1841 as a letter written by Mary (Simpson) Clarkson to a brother in Maine,
states "I have my children, but no brother or sister to talk to". I would
think that if William was still living, even if in Butler Co OH, he would
have been close enough to talk to.
Could anyone do a marriage look-up in Butler Co OH for a Mary Simpson to
a Fenton prob. before 1850. I'm clutching at straws and could use a hard
fact.
If there is anyone researching this Simpson family I would love to hear
from them.

Oops, I omitted that in 1895, John S. Fenton lived in Oxford OH.
