Ken,
I took a look at the 1850 census and it has your g-grandfather being born
in New York. Maybe he was born in Rochester New York? There is a
Rochester in Fulton Co. Indiana, also.
The 1860 census shows Mary living with the other son Lewis/Louis Doty and
it also says they were born in New York.
