Thank you, Deena. I had not seen the 1860 census records for the family. I suspect that
the 6 year old Elizabeth Teagardner in 1860 married Frank Babb and appears in his
household in 1880 along with her mother, but I'd like to substantiate this.
I am descended from 4 month old Manerva [Minnie] through her daughter and granddaughter.
My mother and I have copies of the marriage licence of Hiram and Martha. The family moved
to Kansas ca 1869, where Hiram died. Martha returned to Indiana, but the family seemed to
disperse. Her son Charles is with her in the Babb household, but 12 year old Amanda is in
Covington in the household of David and Nancy Teegarden and is listed as a niece. Minnie
is in Wyoming where she taught school and met the cowhand who would become my
g-grandfather.
