Does anyone know if this cemetery is still out there? Where exactly is it? Does it have a
different name? Why is it named Silver Island? Who now owns the property, if anyone?
Do we know if any of it has been photographed? Tombstone inscriptions? Anything?
Was it once on the land owned by Daniel WANN, a 43 yr. old farmer in the 1850 Census? The
land was valued at $3,500 in 1850 so my guess is it was a sizeable piece of land. It's
possible it might have had a family burial plot of some kind which is called Silver Island
Cemetery?
Daniel was buried at this location, was married to Susanna GIVENS (1st wife- also buried
at Silver Island Cemetery), Charlotte LUNGER (2cnd wife- buried at Silver Island too).
Charlotte and Daniel had a daugher Jane WANN. She is supposed to be buried at Silver
Island. Another one of their unknown named WANN children b. May 1862 died as a young child
and was buried at Silver Island Cemetery.
The Daniel WANN who owned the farm in 1850 is my 4th great-grandfather.
Just trying to figure out where this place might be and if anyone has ever photographed or
indexed any of the tombstones?
Thanks!
Joni
