I've "rescued" an old photograph of Grandmother CLINE and Ann BAIN which
was
taken at the J. W. Montee Studio in McMinnville, OR. The photograph appears
to have been taken in the 1890's with the two women likely in their 50's to
70's at the time the photograph was taken. I believe that this is likely a
photograph of Mary WILSON CLINE and her daughter Ann CLINE BAIN. Based on
limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding
this family:
Mary WILSON was b. 5 Feb 1816 or 1817 in Fountain Co. IN to parents John
WILSON (1785-1845) and Mary CONN (1790-1867). Mary was one of 10 children
born to this couple including, Sala "Sally" Myra; Samuel; John J.; Mary;
James M.; William C.; Hannah; Charloty; George W.; and Thomas J. WILSON, all
born between 1810 and 1829. Mary married Jacob B. CLINE (b. 1812 in
Kentucky-d. 23 Dec 1888 in San Bernardino, CA- son of Philip CLINE and Mary
POLLY) on 28 Dec 1836 in Rock Island Co. IL and together they had 11
children including, John W.; Mary Prudentia; Isabelle or Isabella "Belle"
Logie; Mary Jane; Elizabeth Jane; George; Caroline; Jacob; Antha Anthey;
Jacob; and Ann Elizabeth CLINE all born between 1836 and 1855.
The family left Iowa for Oregon in March 1844 and arrived in Oregon on 20
Dec 1844. Jacob was married three times including once after he and Mary
divorced in 1862, and three more children were born including, George; Ella
Dora; and Charles CLINE between 1865 and 1871. Mary died 22 Jan 1910 in
Portland, OR.
Her daughter Anna Elizabeth CLINE was b. 16 Dec 1840 in Davenport, IA and
married Charles H. BAIN (b. 1839) on Portland, OR on 5 Sept 1861 and
together they had 4 children including, John A.; Charles E.; Mary D.; and
Laura A. BAIN all born between 1864 and 1870. Anna married a second time to
John HARRIS and she died in Portland, OR on 15 Sept 1931.
I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photograph can be
returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you
know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
