Charles DeHaven Expires at 91 in Michigan--Rites Held Wednesday
Covington, Ind.-- (CNS)--last rites for Charles DeHaven, 91, former local
resident, were at Covington Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. O.
W. McGaughey officiating.
Mr. DeHaven was born near Covington, Sept. 15, 1844, son of Jacob and
Susan Osborn DeHaven. Member of a prominent pioneer family, he was actively
engaged in farming during his younger years and was a well-known worker in
Democratic political circles. He died Monday, March 23, 1926, at home of his son,
George DeHaven, at Dowagiac, Mich., the body being brought here for funeral
services and burial.
Surviving are: Two sons, George of Dowagiac, and Ed DeHaven of St. Louis;
several grandchildren; two brothers, Abner DeHaven of Sarasota, Fla., and Arthur
DeHaven of Louise, Tex.
