Did the census taker fill out a form which he later transposed? If so,
maybe he wrote poorly and had trouble transcribing. Perhaps the first "o"
is the "c" for McKee, and the second "o" is a mis-shapen lower part of
the
"K" without the top loop. Maybe he had a bad pen or wrote on an uneven
surface.
How about comparing this to the 1880 soundex census that lists more
information on children? It's on microfilm at the Indiana State Library,
for example.

That "Ira" looks amazingly like "Ora" when you pull up the actual
census
image. Could be either, but the census definitely spelled the last name
"Mooee" for whatever reason.
