I do have the cemetery records for Fountain County, but the Geneaolgy Center has printed
books that are burial indexes for townships. At the moment, they have these books for Cain
and Richland Townships. I will have to ask Ed or Betty at the Center if they used funeral
home records also to record these names since this Nancy didn't show up in the
cemetery records, but does in the Richland Township burial index. I did buy the Richland
index for $9 yesterday and I had already bought the Cain Township index. Once all
townships are indexed, I can look at those first, then go to the cemetery records since I
will know what cemetery the person is in. It will be so much easier and faster.
Also....Using the Court Records Book (that the Genealogy Center is selling), there are
maps of each township showing who and where each of the first settlers lived. There is an
index and I am seeing not only James Carson who settled in Fountain County in 1833, but
also Thomas Carson who settled in 1836 and William P. Carson in 1833. Both James and this
William lived in the same township. Thomas in another.
