Sharon thanks to you I found John B. Smith in Middlefork Township, Vermilion County,
Illinois in the 1900 Census, still living at 86 years of age. His daughter Rachel age
56,was keeping house for him and his son Phillip, age 52, was there also as a farm
laborer. He had a God son listed, William J. Smith age 35. I found one of John and
Susan's daughters, Nancy C. (Smith) age 48, married to Henry H. Searl age 63.
I found the Rutledge line in the 1870 Middlefork census as well. I found out that John B.
Smith's parents were both born in New Jersey as well. I can now send for a death
certificate for John B. Smith. I have to look up the word "Imfirm" to see what
that means in genealogy. I can't thank you enough Sharon. I had no idea to look in
Middlefork, I know I will find a lot more in this township on my ancestors and I owe it
all to you. I emailed my cousin Cheryl, the info and she is jumping for joy.
