Tried to send this to list on Saturday but apparently it bounced around and
came back. So I'm sending it again...

I have not done research on the Bowman, Myers and other lines that came from
NC and TN to Jackson Twp, and Wallace in particular other than running into
the names because my family were neighbors to many of them for many years in
Wallace. I am trying to trace my family's moves before Montgomery County and
I know that they came from KY and there are indications that they were in NC
and TN prior to that. I know that families tended to move with other
families, which is why I was checking into the Greene County, TN area.
There are indeed many Bowmans, Myers, Kellers and others interred at Phanuel
Lutheran (aka Wallace Lutheran) Church in Jackson Twp. I have a list of
burials in the "old" section of the cemetery that I copied from a book or
document at the Fountain County Library. If anyone would like me to look up
a name for them, please let me know. I believe the earliest burial there was
ca. 1840 (I'd have to check to be sure) and the cemetery is still in use
today (my grandparents are buried there, 1972 and 1974, as are many other
family members).
Family legend tells that my 2ggrandfather, Andrew J. Clouse built part of
the altar for the church, which is still used. Something I need to check
into!
Cathy

Since I posted this message, I have come across a personal website of a
gentleman who has an extensive genealogy of the Myers'. He has several
inaccuracies in the more recent generations, but there seems to be quite a
bit of good information.
Thanks for the tip regarding TN, I will check it out. I noticed there are
several Bowmans interred at Wallace Lutheran Cemetery and there are still
many Bowmans in the immediate area. I believe they were one of the charter
families of the Lutheran Church as were the Myers.
