As I understand you are a descendent of John Summers who married Jane
Allen the daughter of Issac Allen and Francis Pettit... Correct?
And John's sister Elizabeth Summers married Jane's brother Thomas Allen...

Book
John Allin enters 300 acres on Fishers River/Pole Cat and 200 acres on
Pole Cat.
Both entries say "for complement". Date on Both Entries: 11 Aug 1778.
Benjamin Pettit was Taxed in 1782 in Surry County, NC for 6 horses - 9
cattle - 360 acres land on the Yadkin River / son Thomas is also listed
with 3 horses and 4 cattle. Nearby are Job Martin, Patrick Logan, Thomas
Poindexter, WILLIAM HEAD, Abram Wood, Michael Sprinkle, and Joseph Ransom.

in Surry Co, North Carolina, Winnifred Combs Ridge, widow, re-married
(bond), to Nathan ALLEN (a.k.a. ALLIN), Silvanus PIPES Nathan's bondsman.
Shortly thereafter, her new husband assumed guardianship of all six of her
RIDGE children as well as administration of the RIDGE estate, and on 6 Aug
1785, Nathan ALLIN also purchased property at Camp Creek of the Mitchell
River in Surry, 400 acres that was adjacent to Thomas PETTIT.

Surry Co, NC DBC:293/4. William T. LEWIS, heir-at-law of Micajah LEWIS,
dec'd to Nathan ALLIN, £100, for 400 acres both sides of Mitchells River
crossing Camp Creek, agreed line with Micajah LEWIS and Thomas PETTIT.
Notes: Near the head of the creek - moving east toward the mouth of the
creek, other entries or deeds include: Henry SOUTHARD (1789), John
FIELDER, Sr. (1790) [h/o Elizabeth LEWIS], Christopher KERBY (1791),
Thomas PITTS (1782). At the mouth of Camp Creek (Mitchell River) are
entries for: Micajah LEWIS (1782), William T. LEWIS (1783) [father of
Micajah];and Thomas PETTITT (1784)
Notes: Micajah, Joel and William T. LEWIS, Jr. of Surry Co, NC were all
sons of William T. & Sarah MARTIN Lewis, Sr. of Wilkes Co, NC, the first
two, Patriot officers in the Rev.War.
William T. LEWIS, Jr. featured largely in the Estate of William RIDGE (h/o
Winnifred Combs who m next the above Nathan ALLIN), and the LEWIS brothers
and Col. Benjamin CLEVELAND (later in South Carolina) were both ardent
patriots.
William CODY (h/o Sinai STACY) and William Combs, Sr. (s/o Mason, Sr. and
h/o Seth STACY) were both Tories.
Benjamin (m Ann Combs, d/o Mason, Sr.), Sinai STACY Cody & Seth STACY
Combs were daughters of Simon & Judith TOLSON Stacy, with Judith marrying
next, the above Thomas PETTIT, Sr.
John FIELDER, Jr. (s/o John FIELDER, Sr. who m next Elizabeth LEWIS, d/o
William T. & Sarah MARTIN Lewis, Sr., (and widow of John BENGE), m Nancy
RIDGE, natural d/o William RIDGE.

In the name of God amen, I Benjamin Pettit of the county of Surry in the
State of North Carolina planter, being of perfect mind and memory tho ??
of low state of health but thanks be given to God for it calling unto my
mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men
? over ? to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that
is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul unto
the hands of almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the
earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my
executor nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive
the same again by the mighty power of God. --
Interims I give and bequeath the upper part of my land to my beloved son
Thomas Pettit and the lower part of it to my beloved son George Pettit
that said land to be divided the line to come as followeth, to wit, to
begin on the riverbank opposite the gum springs, straight out to the back
line. Likewise I give and bequeath to my son George Pettit four cows and
all my hogs and one feather bed and furniture. I give and bequeath to my
son Benjamin Pettit one shilling sterling. I give and bequeath to my
daughter Mary Bates one shilling sterling and after the decease of dearly
beloved wife Elizabeth Pettit all the remainder of my estate to be sold
and after paying all my just debts, the remainder to be equally divided
between my son Thomas Pettit and my son George Pettit, Elizabeth Sprinkle,
and my grandson Benjamin Pettit son of my son Benjamin and Polly Logan
daughter of William Logan deceased. And I do hereby alertly disallow,
revoke and dissolve all former testaments other leg!

In the name of God amen, I Thomas Pettit Sr. of the county of Surry and
State of North Carolina, having a weak and frail body, but of a sound
memory and understanding, do make and constitute this my last will and
testament in manner and form following, to wit, I commit my body to the
ground from whence it came and my soul to God who gave it. As to what
worldly estate the Lord ha been pleased to bless me with, I dispose of in
manner and form following, I lend unto my loving wife Judith Pettit, the
back of land on which I live and after her death I give and bequeath unto
my son Thomas Pettit the said land above mentioned to him his heirs and
assigns forever; He the said Thomas Pettit paying to Simon Stacy my wife's
son the sum of ten pounds lawful money of our said State; Also I give unto
my loving wife Judith all the rest and residue of my estate to dispose of
as she pleases, except one feather bed and furniture which at her death I
give unto my daughter Mary Ransom to her an!

North Carolina Surry Country February term 1786 William, one of the
residing witnesses to the foregoing last will and testament of Thomas
Pettit; made oath that he saw the said Thomas Pettit sign publish and
declare the same to be his last will & testament, that he was of sound
disposing mind and memory; and at the same time he saw John Burch, sign
the same as witness; and ordered to be recorded. Recorded accordingly.

NOTE: Benjamin Pettit had a son Benjamin that married Rebecca Larimore.
He is found in Lincoln County KY land records, and his children are
recorded as being born at Pettit's Station, which is where Issac Allen's
wife Francis is supposed to be buried.
1786, APRIL 18...SURRY CO NC DEED BOOK D, PAGE 108...Isaac Allin of Surry
Co NC purchased 200 acres on Polecat Creek from John Allin, it being a
tract granted to John Allin by the state in 1784. It included houses
building, orchards, water and water courses (see above record in 1778)
Surry Co. NC Deeds Books D, E, & F 1779-1797 by Mrs. W. O. Absher.
It shows 18 April 1786 , John Allen Senr. giving 5 pounds, 200 acres to
John Allen Junr., 100 pounds, 200 acres to William Allen and 5 pounds 200
acres to Isaac Allen.

crippled son George & a Michel. Also mentioned is that there are no exrs
but administration is granted to Rachel, widow & relict 16 May 1789 with
ISAAC ALLEN & Wm Cook, Esqrs, securities.
