Crawfordsville Daily Journal Thursday 12-28-1922 -- James C. KEELING, age 85 and a
lifelong resident of Hillsboro died Thursday monring after a two months' illness from
asthma. he had been in bed for the last five weeks. Mr. Keeling was a pioneer farmer of
this country and was well known to nearlye verybody in the neighborhood. He was one of
the leaders in the early development of the county and his many friends are greatly
grieved over the loss of such a staunch citizen. He was a member of the Lutheran Church
of near Wallace during the greater part of his life. His wife preceded him ni death 26
years ag and he is survived by 3 sons: Alfred, Austin and Charles, all of Hillsboro; four
daughters: Mrs. Mollie Davidson of Wallace; Mrs. Flora Wildman of Newtown; Mrs. Bertha
Wildman of HIllsboro and Mrs. Lilly Crower of near HIllsboro. One half brother and one
half sister are still living. They are Alfred Livengood of near here, and Mrs. Elimna
Ingersol, who lives in the Ingersol neighborhood. Funeral arrangements have not been
made.
