Crawfordsville Daily Journal Thurs Jan 4, 1923 - Hillsboro, Jan 4 - Joseph Glascock, 86,
died at his home here last night at 8:15 o'clock following an illness of two weeks of
a complication of diseases incident to his advanced age. He had been a lifelong resident
of this community. He was formerly superintendent of the county farm and was at one time
township trustee. Surviving Mr. Glascock are his wife, 3 daughters, Mrs. Preston Cooper
and Mrs. Elsada Claman of Hillsboro and Mrs. Charles Frazier of Chicago; two grandchildren
and one brother, Thomas Glascock of Kingman who is 84. The deceased was the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph Glascock and was born Nov 25, 1836 on a farm 3 miles west of Hillsboro.
Jan 28, 1858, he was married to Miss Marana Campbell. To this union 4 children were born.
One son, Francis died at age 2. Mr. and Mrs. Glascock were preparing for their 65th
wedding anniversary on the 28th of this month. Mr. Glascock was a charter member of the
Christian Church and was very active in all the activities of the church and community as
long as his health permitted. A few years ago he was kicked by a colt form which he
suffered a broken hip which left him a cripple the remaining years of his life. Funeral
services will be held Sat morning at 10 at the Christian Church and will be in charge of
Rev. OW McGaughey of Veedersburg. Interment will take place at Rockfield Cemetery.
