Claudine H. Weber, 83, Veedersburg, died 10:15 p.m., Mar. 2, in Waters of Covington
Nursing Home. Mrs. Weber worked for R.M.C., Attica, for 20 years, and for Culver Hospital,
Crawfordsville, as a respiratory therapist, retiring after 11 years. She was a volunteer
for the Helping Hands program at Waters of Covington. She was a member of Stonebluff
United Methodist Church and was active with the children's Bible study group. She was
born March 29, 1917, at Newtown, to Luke and Georgia Fleming Furr. She married John D.
Weber on June 15, 1935, at Veedersburg. He died in 1991. Survivors include two sons,
Larry, Veedersburg, and Robert, Attica; two daughters, Martha Hartle, Veedersburg, and
Lois Devrise, Lafayette; three brothers, Donald Furr, Covington, William Furr, Waynetown,
and Eugene, Danville, Ill.; three sisters, Catherine Keller, Lafayette, Margaret Austin,
Mellot, and Florence Epperson, Auburndale, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren. Two sisters and three brothers are deceased.
Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m., Mar. 5, in Stonebluff United Methodist Church,
with Paul Ziebart and Stan Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Newtown Cemetery,
Newtown.
Dickerson Funeral Home, 303 N. Main St., Veedersburg, is in charge of arrangements.

Donald P. Furr, 90, Mellott, died 9:58 a.m. Sunday in Country Care Nursing Center,
Williamsport. Mr. Furr was a farm hand for Warren Graves farm, Hillsboro, and was also
employed with Nationals Homes and Burger Steel, Lafayette, and Harrison Steel Castings
Company, Attica before retiring from Radio Material Corporation at Attica. His memberships
included Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. He attended school at Kingman.
He was born Aug. 5, 1912, near Kingman, to Luke and Georgia Fleming Furr. He married
Esther Ann Cook Dec. 7, 1935, at Veedersburg. She survives. Other survivors include three
sons, Donald, Newtown, Marvin, Attica and Terell, Kingman; four daughters, Beverly
Levaseur, Fort Fairfield, Maine, Carolyn Coffing, Crawfordsville, Janice Boman, Kingman,
Sharon Davis, Wheatland, Calif.; two brothers, Eugene, Danville, Ill., and William,
Waynetown; three sisters, Katherine Keller, Lafayette, Mary Margaret Austin, Mellott, and
Florence Epperson, Auburndale, Fla.; twenty one grandchildren; twenty two
great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. One son, three brothers, three
sisters and one granddaughter proceded him in death. Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m.
Tuesday in Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Burial
will be in Highland Cemetery, Williamsport. Friends may call Tuesday noon-2 p.m. in the
funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation of the American Heart
Association.

Esther Ann Furr, 87, resident of County Care Nursing Center, Williamsport, and formerly of
Mellott and Hillsboro, died 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. Mrs.
Furr was employed as a tester for Radio Material Corp., Attica, for 27 years, retiring in
1977. Her memberships included Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. She attended Veedersburg
High School. She was born Dec. 7, 1915, at Attica to Clair Randall and Mary Belle Idle
Cook. She married Donald Paul Furr on Dec. 7, 1935, at Veedersburg. He died Aug. 3, 2003.
Survivors include four daughters, Beverly Levaseur, Fort Fair, Maine, Carolyn Coffing,
Crawfordsville, Janice Boman, Kingman, and Sharon Davis, Wheatland, Calif.; three sons,
Donald William, Newtown, Marvin, Attica, and Terell, Kingman; a brother, Marion Cook,
Veedersburg; a sister, Violet May Osborn, Danville, Ind.; 21 grandchildren; 22
great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. A son, Norman Dean Furr; a
brother, Eugene Cook; a sister, Lucille Berlin; and a granddaughter, Penny Sue Crowder,
are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled 11 a.m. Thursday Maus Funeral Home, Attica,
with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Williamsport.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Crawfordsville Journal-Review Thursday, Sept 9, 1943 -- Relatives at Veedersburg were in
receipt of word Thursday of the death of EL Furr, 85 at his home in Winter Haven, Florida.
A native of Veedersburg, he had engaged in farming while residing there during his early
life. He was the son of William and Lary Hesler Furr. His wife, the former Kate
Glascock, died several years ago. Relatives in the Veedersburg vicinity include a
brother-in-law, Harry Glascock and nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial will
be in Florida.

Crawfordsville Journal Review 15 May 1961 p 8 -- Mrs. Eleanor Edna Marshall, 93 died at 11
p.m. Saturday at the home of a sister, Mrs. Leota Clark of Veedersburg. Mrs. Marshall had
been in failing health 2 years, her condition becoming serious last Tedersburg Oct 28,
1867 she was a daughter of Marshall and Nancy Elizabeth Wilson Furr. She married Elmer
Marshall Nov 22, 1885 and he preceded her in death Nov 2 1946. Surviving are 5 children,
a son George S. Marshall of Chesterton and four daughters, Mrs. Ava Pearl Philpott of
Hillsboro; Mrs Vera Gale Roison of Lafayette; Mrs. Elizabeth Hesler of Bradenton Fla and
Mrs. Leota Clark of this community. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Eva Laird of
CovingtonLuke Furr of Newtown and 2 grandchildre, 53 great grandchildren and 6 great
great grandchildren. There are 87 living descendants. Mrs. Marhsall was a member of the
Centennial EUB church where funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tues with the Rev.
Bennet Fulp of Crawfordsville officiating. Burial in Centennennial Cemetery with Fishero
Funeral home in charge.

Crawfordsville Journal Review 29 March 1954 -- Isa L. Furr, known by almost everyone as
"Fuzzy" Furr, and a barber in Veedersburg practically his entire life, died Sat.
afternoon at 3 pm. at Culver Hospital. He was taken tot he hospital the night before when
his condition became ciritical. He had been seriously ill at his home in Veedersburg for
many months and had retired from barbering in May 1953. Fuzzy was a progressive
businessman and was one of Veedersburg's best known man. He was the eldest s/o Jacob
and Maqry Kerr Furr and was born July 17, 1880 on a farm SW of HIllsboro. The family
moved to Veedersburg and Fuzzy learned the barber trade from his father. He was married
June 22, 1904 to Anna M. Lowe. While living in HIllsboro he became a member of the
Christian Church. Suriviving is the wife, Anna, the mother, Mrs. Mollie Furr; a brother,
Freeman; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Sutton of Danville and 3 sons, Dale at home; Cash of
Crawfordsville and Lt. Glenn C. Furr on leave from Korea and two granddaughters. He was
preceded in death by two children, Paul and Wreatha. Funeral services were held Tuesday
afternoon at the Fishero Funeral home with Rev. JS Pitchard & Richard Owen
officiating. Burial in Rockfield Cemetery.

Crawfordsville Jouranl Review 28 July 1970- Hillsboro IN - Mrs. Mabel Furr Palmer, 70 of
Veedesrburg Rt 1, died at 9:30 pm. last night July 27, 1970 at St. Eliz. Hospital,
Danville Ill. She had been ill since march. She was born December 29, 1899, in the home
where she had lived her entire life, the daughter of Albert R. and Sarah Pogue Furr. She
married Glen Palmer March 10, 1921. She attended Steam Corner Elm School and graduated
from Veedersburg HS. She was a member of the New Liberty Christian Church and Ladies Aid.
She is survived by her husband. Services will be at 1:30 p.m EDT Thursday at
Crumley-Williams Funeral Home, Hillsboro with Rev. James W. Whitaker offic. Burial in
Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4p.m. Wednesday.

Crawfordsville Journal-Review Nov. 29, 1915-Jan. 3, 2007 -- Margaret E. Jenks, 91,
Veedersburg, died 8:05 am Wednesday at St. Vincent Hospital, Williamsport. Mrs. Jenks was
a life long resident of Veedersburg, where she and her husband raised their family on the
farm in the Cades Hollow area. She helped on the family farm and worked for a time at RMC
in Attica and at the Southeast Fountain School System. She attended New Century Church as
a child and later attended Cooper's Chapel Church with her family for many years. She
was born Nov. 29, 1915 at Veedersburg to Raymond and Alina (Reed) Furr. On Dec. 30, 1933,
she married Clifford Jenks at Fairmount, Ill. He died in 1991. She is survived by a
daughter, Shirley (Larry) Strean; one son Duane (Marlene Conrad) Jenks,; a brother, Bob
(Jenny) Furr; a grandaughter; three great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, one
daughter Jackie Jenks, and a grandson. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Dickerson
Funeral Home, with burial at the Rockfield Cemetery in Veedersburg. Visitation will be 5-8
p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Furr, farmer, Hillsboro, was b. in Cain Twp, Feb 26, 1838. His father, Alexander came
from Ky in the early settlement of this co. His mother, Rebecca 9Booe) is now the w/o
David Whitsel. Mr. Furr married Sarah A. Justus, Nov 8, 1860; she died Aug 10, 1875;
having borne 4 children: Sarene E, b. Sept 30, 1861; William Oct 2, 1863; Sina M June 13,
1869 d. May 26,1 870 and Charles Oct 22, 1873 d. Oct 10, 1877. He was married again,
March 20, 1876 to Miss Belle Bodley who was born Dec 18, 1843. 3 children have been born
to this union: Gracie M, Jan 1, 1877; Harry B, June 5, 1879 d. 28th of the same month; and
Ira O, Aug 10, 1880. Mr. Furr has threshed grain for 24 consecutive seasons. He now owns
and is running a steam thresher which has cost him, all complete $1,500. Before her marr.
Mrs. Furr taught school 14 years - 30 terms about half of the time in Livingston Co Ill
and the rest in Fountain County Mr. Furr is a Dem.

Fountain Warren Democrat Dec 27 1928 -- Marshall Furr, an aged resident of Fountain
county, died December 15
at his home in Kingman after a few days illness. He was born on Scott's Prairie in
the southern part of this county February 11 1841, being 87 years, 10 months and 4 days
old at the time of his death. His parents William and Elizabeth Booe Furr, were among the
pioneer settlers in the county. He was married to Miss Nancy E. Wilson on October 2 1865,
and they were the parents of three daughters and five sons: Eleanor Etta, Samantha, Eva
Arena, Thos. N., John E., Charles A., William and Luke Evertt. They resided on a farm
near Kingman until about 20 years ago, when they moved to Kingman. His wife died and he
was married a second time to Mrs. Clara Keller, who
survives.
