Veersburg News -- After a short but fatal illness Allen b. Glasock succumbed to that
deadly disease, commonly known as consumption at his home in Yeddo Ind about 3:30
o'clock Thursday morning. Mr. Glascock was about 51 and was the 5th child of Harrison
and Rachel Glascock. The deceased was born on the old home place about 3 miles east of
Veedersburg just beyond the John Glascock home on the hIllsboro highway. WHile yet a boy
he removed with his parents to the Old Scotts Prairie neighborhood where he grew to
manhood. Allen B. Glascock was first married to Jennie Stockdale, a sister of George
Stockdale and to this union two children Cecil and Alma survive and reside in Jackson Twp.
This union was terminated by the death of Mrs. Glascock about 20 years ago. Mr.
Glascock's second marriage was to Etta Hutts and to this union 3 children were born:
Harry, Lee and Dorothea all of whom and the widow survive. Other members of the immediate
familya re two brothesr, Daniel Glascock of Exter, California and Alva Glascock of
Veedersburg, also two sisters, Mrs. Austin Cooper of Hillsboro and Mrs. Manford Ludlow of
Hanford, Calif. The deceased became a member of the Scotts Prarie Christian Church when a
young man and retained his membership until death. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge also
Order of Red Men and to the Campe of Woodmen. Funeral services held from the late home in
Yeddo Saturday a.m. at 10:30 with interment Rockfield cemetery.

Crawfordsville Jouranl Review 24 March 1941 p 7 -- Cecil R. Glascock, a life long res. of
Ft. Co, passed away at the St. Elizabeth Hospital. at Danville, Ill on Sat. March 22 at 12
o'clock noon at the age of 53 y 11m 23d. He had been in ailing health two months and
ten days before his death he entered the hospital and was operated on Monday March 17 so
everything could be done to restore him to good health, but to no avail. He was born on
Scott's Priarie, NW of Wallace, Fountain County in March 28, 1888 the son of Allen
and Jennie Stockdale Glascock. He was a member of the Masonic Order of Wallace. His brief
life ended when it had just begun. As a good neighbor, always ready to help someone in
need, his influence will still go on, and the lives of all who knew him will be richer for
his having lived. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. One sister, Mrs.
Dorothy Beeson passed away a year ago. He leaves besides his devoted wife, a sister, Mrs.
John Thomas of Kingman; his stepmother, Mrs. William Oakley of Attica; two half brothers,
Harry Glascock, Toledo, Oh; Lee Glascock of Attica; two step brothers, Hersched Hutts, of
Veedersburg and Freeman Hutts of Wingate; nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host
of friends.

Crawfordsville Jouranl-Review 24 Jan 1998 -- Della B. Glascock, 105 of Covington Ind died
at 2:30 p.m. Friday Jan 23, 1998 at the Covington Manor Health Care Center in Covington.
She was b. on April 10, 1892 in Parke Co, Ind the daughter of Jacob Verner Philpott and
Nurissa Alice Keller philpott. She married Cecil Raymond Glascock Feb 3,1 912. He preceded
her in death in march 1941. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and five sisters. She is formerly of
Veedersburg and Wallace, Ind. She attended Buffalo School, Jackson Twp and Fountain Co in
Indiana. SHe was a member of Freedom Christian Church and Wallace OES for more than 50
years. Service: 11 a.m. Monday Jan 26, 1998 at Zackmire Cem, located south of Wallace, Ind
with the Rev. Gary Johnson offic. Burial: Zackmire Cem in Kingman, Ind. Shuemaker Funeral
home in Waynetown in charge of arrangements.

Crawfordsville Journal Review 22 Aug 1940 p 7 -- Charles Glascock for many years a
prominent citizen of Crawfordsville, died Thursday morning August 22, 1940 at the state
hospital at Evansville Ind where he had been for the past thee years. Infirmities of age
caused his death after a three year illness. Mr. Glascock was active in politics while
living in Crawfordsville and held various political positions. He served as precinct
committeeman for the Republican part on diff. occasions, was named city policemen for a
period of 4 years and later was employed at the city hall. He was born Dec 27, 1857, in
Fleming Co Ky, the son of David A. and Theresa Custer Glasco Youngblood of the Scott's
Prairie neighborhood, South of Veedersburg. For sev. years he followed the farming
occupation. He was also a school teacher for a number of years. Mr. Glascock was a
highly regarded citizen and had many good friends. Mr. Glascock is survived by two
daughters, Mrs. Walter Moyer and Miss Fannie Glascock, both of C'ville; one son, David
a. Glascock, director of athletics at Indiana State Teachers College, Terre Haute; four
grandch, Charles and Murial Moyer of Crawfordsville; and David and John Glascock, of TH;
and three brothers, Paul Glascock who was his twin, and Richard and Scott off Maysville,
Ky. Funeral services were held Friday at Crawfordsville.

? Newspaper (hand dated March 13, 1956) -- Hugh Thomas Glascock, 46, a farmer, was found
dead at his home osuth of Steam Corner, SW of here about 4 p.m. Tuesday March 13, 1956.
The body was found by his wife, Mary on her return home after an absence. The body was
found in a brooder house in the rear of the residence. A note was found in the house
telling where the body would be located. Fountain Co. Corner Charles Fishero of
Veedersburg, Sheriff Goerge keller and Deputy Georg eCreuea investigated. The coroner gave
a verdict of suicide. A son of THomas Jefferson and Mabel Heath Glascock, he was b. in
Yeddo AUg 27, 1909. He was married to Mary Myers Feb 18 1932. Surv. besides his wife are
his mother, a resident of Rockville, one sister, Mrs. Genevieve Simmons of Covington. Body
is at Fishero Funeral HOme at Veedersburg, arrangements are incomplete.
Hugh Thomas Glascock, 46, was found dead in a brooder house behind his home Tuesday
afternoon. THe body was found by a cousin, charles Glascock, after the discovery of a note
writen by Mr. Glascock indicating hi sdeath. Ft Co Coroner Charles Fisher, who arrived on
the scene with Sheriff goerge Keller and Depty George Cruea, said the cause of death was a
self-inflicted bullet wound in the left chest. Mr. Glascock's family informed
authorities that he had been extremely nervous due to ill health. He was b. Aug 27, 1909,
the s/o Thomas and mabel Heath Glascock, and married Mary Myers Feb 18, 1932. He is
survived by his wife, his mother of Rockville; and a sister, Genevieve Simmons of
Covington. Funeral arrangements are pending. Mr. Glascock was a farmer, living south of
Steam Corner

?? Newspaper -- Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the FIshero Funeral Home for
Hugh Thomas Glasock 46 who was found dead Tuesday in a brooder house on his farm south of
Steam Corner on Rt. 41. The Rev. CE Smith of Danville will offic and burial will be in
Harveysburg Cem near Kingman. Mr. Glascock's death was attributed to a self-inflicted
wound by 38 caliber revolver. He had left a note for his wife not to look for him when she
returned from attending a sale but to call someone and then for both to come to the
brooder house. She contacted a cousin of Mr. GLascock, Charles Glascock and together they
discvoered the body. The deceased also left a note designating the funeral director of his
choice and a request for a private funeral.

Rockville Tribune 12-26-1934 -- "10 years ago" The handsome home of Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Glascock, Sr. one of the finest homes in Kingman was destroyed by fire last
THursday afternoon. THe fire was caused by an overheated furnace. Mr. G. was at home
when the fire started but in spite of the efforts of the local fire deparmtnet and
neibhbors, the house was practically a total loss The home was valued at $8000 and was
partially covered by insurance. The contents were saved -- Covington Friend.

Crawfordsville Jouranl Review 15 June 1979 p 2 - Kingman, IN - Troy C. Glascock, 99, the
oldest resident of Kingman community and oldest graduate of Kingman HS d. 12:30 p..m
Thursday, June 14, 1979 at the Americana Nursing Home in Dnavillle. He had lived on
Kingamn rt 1. Glascock was a retired farmer, cattleman and hog raiser. He began raising
purebred Duroc hogs in 1904 and was recognized throughout the midwest in this field. He
had taught in the Ft. Co. schools for two years and was a former insurance agent. He was a
member of Scott's Prairie Church and had served in various capcitites for the church.
Born 3-14-1880 in Indiana he was the son of Francis & Fannie Cade Glascock. He was a
1900 graduate of Kingman HS. In 1904, he married Mary Elizabeth Lindley who died in 1962.
Survivors include a son, Hubert of Kingman Rt 1; six grandch; 10 greats and 3 great
greats. He was preceded in death on April 4, 1977 by a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Ratcliff and
by a brother and sister. services will be at 2:30 Sunday at Woodrow Funeral Home. Burial
in Mt. Hope Cem in Covington.
