--Again God has called one of our dear friends home where there will be no more trouble.
Mary C. DAVIS was born Nov 20, 1882 and died July 13, 1902 aged 19 years 7 months 21 days.
She joined church at Freedom during the protracted meeting last winter and was baptized
about two months before she died. She was sick about six weeks and during all that time
never heard to complain. She had that dreaded disease, typhoid fever and was unconscious
most all the time. She talked about going home several times and would try to sing Savior
do not pass me by." She was ready to go when God called her to come up to a happier
home. It seems so hard to give one up when in their youthful bloom but God knows bets.
There is no doubt but what if we could have looked on ahead of this poor girl's life
and seen all the trouble she would have to go through we would say thanks God she is at
rest. Mary was a bright and intelligent young woman and she always met you with a smile.
She is gone but not forgotten. God needed one more angel to be with his happy hband and
therefore he called Mary, and so let us all try and live a life as Mary did so when God
calls us home we may meet her at the gates of gold. She leave her father and mother, four
sister and four brothers and a host of sorrowing friends to mourn her loss. A Rev.
Phillips could not be present Undertaker Shuler of Waynetown conducted the friends to the
Zackmire Cemetery wher ethe body was laid to rest.
