--Tom DURMAN died at his home in Muncie, Ind Tuesday evening Sept 30 (Note: 1902) of a
complication of diseases, aged 62 years. Mr. Durman was formerly one of the best known
merchants in this section. He first started in the general merchandise business at
Russells Mills, removing from there to Harveysburg in 1867, where he was a prominent and
successful merchant until Kingman was started in 1887, when he built the store room at
present occupied by CL Steinbaugh and moved his stock over here, where he remained until 6
years ago, when he closed out his business and removed to Muncie. He has not been
actively engaged in business since his residence in that city. The funeral was held at
Muncie Thursday morning, and interment took place in that city. He leaves a wife and four
children, two girls and two boys. HIs brother Frank of near Marshall was at his bedside
at the time of his death. He was a brother of Sam Durman of Harveysburg. The Star joins
with our citizens in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
