HMMM -- cool would they have been around in 1916 then? I'm thinking it

Karen, in Texas the military had airdomes or blimp hangars all along the
coast until after WWII. On the flat coastal prairie, they were the biggest
thing on the horizon and could be seen from thirty miles away. In those
dangerous times, blimps were housed in them for submarine surveillance and
land security during blackouts. Today a Goodyear blimp is housed in a
gigantic airdome just north of Houston, Texas and floats out to watch
