Crawfordsville Jouranl and Review 9 Dec 1929 -- Veedersburg, Dec 9 -- Lewis McLean, age
81, well known farmer living 3 miles north of Veedersburg, died at t he home of his
daughter, Mrs. Edith Crane in Lafayette, Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. He was
visiting at the home of his daughter when he suffered an attack of heart trouble which
caused his death. Mr. McLean was born Dec 23, 1848, in Troga Co, PA and came to
Veedersburg 50 years ago and settled on a farm in the Osborne Prarie neighborhood where he
has lived ever since. He is survived by his wife, who was MIss Anna Engle before her
marriage; one daughter, Mrs. Crane; one sister, Mrs. Charles Jennings of Washington DC and
one brother, Lanfice McLean of Kansas City, Mo. Funeral services for Mr. McLean will be
held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Osborne Prairie Church. Burial will take
place at the Osborne Prairie Cemetery.
