Starnes, well known young merchant of Wallace passed away at Evansville Hospital Friday
evening at 6 o'clock according toa message received here. Mr. Stanres had been in
declining health for the pat 3 months. The deceased was born June 11, 1892 near Wallace
the son of Ells- message received here (is obviously out of place in this obituary). Mr.
Starnes was married Oct 6, 1909 to Hattie Grimes. Mr. Starnes was a member of the Wallace
Christian Church and also identified with the Masonic and Eastern Star lodges. Mr.
Starnes had been a resident of the Wallace community all of his life and until his health
failed had been engaged in the general mercantile business here. Those surviving are his
wife, one son, Harold F, one daughter, Lois at home, his mother, two brothers, Fais B and
Arthur and two sisters, Mrs. Esta Fender and Mrs. Jewel Myers of Wallace. The funeral
services will be conducted at the Wallace Christian Church Monday afternoon at 2:30
o'clock with the Rev. John Servies in charge. Burial will be made in Zackmire
Cemetery.
