Crawfordsville Journal Review 29 May 1934 p 5 --Indianapolis, May 29 - Manford Livengood,
63 years old, senior member of the firm of Livengood, Hamilton & Livengood public
accountants died yesterday in his home, 219 W. 52nd Street. He suffered a stroke of
apoplexy May 20. Mr. Livengood served as superintendent of public instruction of Fountain
County from 1907-1917 at the same time was a member of the State Board of Educationand the
Indiana Teachers & Young People's Reading Club. He became chief deputy collector
of internal revenue here in 1917, serving in that capacity until 1921, when he entered the
public accounting field. Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Jessie Lenore Livengood; a
daughter, Mrs. John R. Burnett, and a son, N. Dale Livengood all of Indianapolis and two
brothers, Austin Livengood and Levi Livengood, both of Fountain County. Friends may view
the body at the Royster & Askin Undertaking establishment, 1902 N Meridian Street
after 10 o'clock this morning until 9 o'clock tomorrow morning. Funeral services
will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at Waynetown and burial also will be made
in Waynetown. Mr. Livengood was born in Fountain County and has sevearl relatives residing
in that community.
