Crawfordsville Journal Review 20 Oct 1964 p 2 -- Oscar Ray Livengood, 72 retired farmer
was found dead in bed at his home on Branch Country Club Road Monday evening. Dr. Samuel
C. Millis, county coroner, attributed death to natural causes and indicated it might have
occurred a few hours before the body was discovered. Mr. Livengood had been expected to
attend a Senior Citizen's group meeting Monday evening and when missed by friends,
according to the sheriff's department, one of them, Mrs. Eva Surface, city called at
his home. She saw the body and called the nearest neighbor, Ralph Caldwell who notified
authorities. He had lived at his present home the last 7 years and was employed at the
Morris & Jack Greenhouse on Country Club Road. Born north of Wallace, he was a son of
Alfred and Elizabeth Miller Livengood. He was wed to Iva Conner in 1912. Mr. Livengood was
a member of Mt. Zion Church. Three sons, Randel, Gareld and Arnold, all of Hillsboro rural
rote and three grandchildren survive. A sister, Mrs. Minnie Young is deceased. Two of the
sons, Gareld and Arnold are on a deer hunting trip in Wyoming. Efforts are being made
through state police and sheriff's officers in that state to contact them. The body
was taken to the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro where arrangments are incomplete.
