Crawfordsville Journal Review Dec 7, 1951 p 7 -- Noah M. Teegarden, 75 for 47 years a
prominent attorney and real estate agent in Veedesrburg, died early Friday morning at St.
Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill. He became a hospital patient there following a
cerebral hemorrhage which he had suffered downtown in Veedersburg earlier in the morning
last Friday. Ten days ago, Mr. Teegarden suffered a head injury when he fell while walking
on one of the downtown streets in Covington where he had gone on business. Mr. Teegarden
was born January 28, 1876 at Kingman, the son of John R. and Huldah Deer Teegarden. As a
youth he attended the academy at Covington and later he was a student at the Terre Haute
Normal School. Mr. Teegarden was twice married. His first wife, the former Lottie Pickard
died in 1901. They resided in Kingman following their marriage. On October 24, 1906 Mr.
Teegarden was married to Alice Hessler of Veedersburg. She preceded him in death August 3,
1945. Mr. teegarden is surivived by two daughters, rRs. Herbert Sinclair of
Crawfordsville and Mrs. Henry Ewan of Los Angeles Calif; 3 sons, Chester of Portola, Cal;
Paul of Melbourne, Fla and Perry of Louisville, Ky. , 11 grandchildren, 3 great
grandchildren and two sisters also survive. The sisters are Emma Teegarden of Kingman and
Daisy Edwards, Indianapolis. Mr. Teegarden, long prominent in business circles in
Veedersburg was a member of the Chrisitan Church; the Masonic Lodge and Fountain County
bar assoiation. Throughout his life Mr. Teegarden was deeply interested in the annual old
settlers meetings at Yeddo. He had attended nearly all of the 73 old settlers meetings
held since the first one in July 1877, when he was only one year old. Since then he had
miss "a few but not many of the annual events." The body will remain at the
Fishero Funeral home until 12 Saturday when it will be taken to the family residence to
remain until Sunday noon. Funeral services will be conducted at the Christian Church at 2
o'clock Sunday afternoon in charge of Rev. Richard Wren. The body will lie in state
at the church for one hour before the funeral. Burial will be made in Rockfield cemetery.
