Kingman Star, Friday Jan 18, 1952 -- Again, our hearts are saddened by the loss of one we
knew and loved for t o know him was to lov ehim. Maurice John Ephlin, oldest s/o Edgar
and Hallie Keller Ephlin was born March 6, 1925 in Kingman and died Sunday at 1:15 a.m.
Dec 30, 1951, that he might live throughout an endless eternity. John was always a quiet,
unassuming boy, obedient to his parents, kind and considerate to all. He made friends
readily and kep them because he showed himself to be a friend. He received his grade and
high school eduation in Kingman, then after one semester at Wabash College went into the
armed service and spent sometime in Japan. After he came back home he entered Purdue
University where he met and later married Doris Ann Akers On Nov 27, 1947. To this union
one son, Michael was born. They moved to a farm near Pine Village where they lived until
John was again called into the service and sent to Korea. He had only been back home a
little over four months. John became a member of the kingman Christian Church when a boy
and later moved his membership to the christian Church at Pine Village. While living
there he taught a Sunday School class and was quite active int he work of the church.
John will be sadly missed not only by his immediate family, his wife; their son, father,
mother; a brother, Gene ; three sisters, IIene, Virginia and Doris, but also by all those
who knew him. We can never understand why such a promising life has to be taken at such
an early age, but we do know that it is all in the hands of an all-wise, loving and kind
heaveny Father and that He never makes a mistake.
