Crawfordsville Journal Review 6-Oct-1952 p 3-- Milton Petit, life resident of the
Veedesrburg community, died Sunday night at the Lake View Hospital in Danville after being
critically ill for about 3 weeks. He had suffered a heart attack about two months ago and
had been in declining health since. He was born May 30, 1882, in Veedersburg, the son of
Marshall and Nancy Patton Petit. He is survived by his wife, Zala Brown Petit. Mr. Petit
recently retired from active farming and he and Mrs. Petit moved to a new home in
Veedersburg. He was active in Democratic politics for many years and had worked for the
highway commission, the NY Central RR, and was Postmaster in Veedersburg. He was a member
of the Masonic Lodge. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Veedersburg
Christian Church with the Rev. Richard Owen officiaiting. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic
Cemetery.
