Crawfordsville Journal Review 26-Dec-1952 p5 -- HIllsboro -Jewel E. Tinsley, 78, prominent
in the business life of this community for many years, died suddenly at 3:30 o'clock
on the afternoon of Christmas Day. Mr. and Mrs. Tinsley were dinner guests at the home of
their foster daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Crane when he was stricken
fatally by a heart attack. Born Nov 8, 1874 in Hillsboro, he was the son of John and
Melinda Rynearson Tinsley. He was a member of the Christian Church and K of P Lodge.
Included among the activities of his business career were the operating of a grocery, a
filling station, the Hillsboro Hotel, a real estate business and he was at one time
manager of the Prudential Insurance Company farm. Surviving are the widow; a son, Kenneth
of Denver, Colorado; a grandson, Harry Robert Tinsley of Auroro, Colo and two great
grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the
Hillsboro Christian Church, Rev. JT Moore, the pastor will officiate and burial will be in
Rose Hill Cemetery. The body will lie in state for one hour at the church preceding the
services. Friends may call at the familyr esidence after Friday evening.
