Crawfordsville Daily Journal Sat Dec 13, 1919 -- Jacob Bowman passed away at his home near
Wallace Friday night at 10 o'clock following a stroke of apoplexy which he suffered
the previous Monday. Mr. Bowman was born in July 1855 and had spent pratically all of his
life in or near Wallace. He was a highly respected farmer of that community and had many
friends in other parts of this county. Mr. Bowman was the son of Samuel and Margaret
Bruner Bowman. His first wife was Elizabeth Basham, who died about 30 years ago. The
deceased then married Rose Whittaker. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Ernest and
John T and three daughtesr, Mrs. Osa Hann and Mrs. Zulu Livengood of Wallace and Mrs.
Bessie Keller of Crawfordsville. The deceased is also survived by two brothers, Henry
Bowman and Elliot Bowman and two sisters, Mrs. John Bowman of Kingman and Mrs. Wallace
Hybarger of Crawfordsville. The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at
the Wallace Lutheran Church, and will be in charge of Rev. Wike. Burial in the cemetery
there.
