Crawfordsville Weekly Journal 19 July 1918 p 5 - HIllsboro July 12 -- The deat of Mrs.
Kiturah Caroline Williams, aged 77, occurred Friday morning about 4 o'clock. Her
health both physically and mentally had been poor for some time and more than a week ago
she fell and members of the family believe she suffered a paralytic stroke. She died at
the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Carter who has been caring for her for sevearl months.
Kiturah Caroline, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. William Cecil was born in Fayette County, Ind
Oct 23, 1841. He rmother died when she was six weeks old and she was reared by Mr. and
Mrs. Peter Murphy in the Campbell's Chapel neighborhood just west of here. When 18 she
united in marriage to Jack Williams of HIllsboro and six children were born to this union.
Two sons and her husband have preceded her in daeth and she is survived by two sons, PM
Williams and JJ Williams and one daughter, all of this place. The whereabouts of one son,
Herbert Williams, is unknown and the mother's heartbroken health dates back to the
strange disappearance of this son about 11 years ago. It was feared for a time that he
had lost his life in the San Francisco earth quake and later the family was led to believe
he was being held captive in Mexico. A brother, James Williams of this place went to
Mexico in search of him but could receive no information as to his whereabouts andt he
family has abandoned all hope of his ever returning home. The deceased is also survived
by one brother, Alphian Cecil of Pendelton, Ind. Arrangements for the funeral have not
been completed but it is planned to hold the service sometime Sunday.
