Crawfordsville Journal Review 6-Aug-1965 -- Waynetown - Mary V. Bolen, 92, died at 6:15
p.m. Thursday in Waynetown. She had been bedfast 5 months, her condition becoming serious
a week ago. A native of Hamilton County, she was born Nov 4, 1872 near Noblesville to
David and Mary Ann Owen Harris. She married George Bolen at her home there Aug 20, 1894.
He died Sept 13, 1954. Since then she made her home with her children. Mrs. Bolen was a
member of the Walnut Grove Church at State Line and attended Liberty Church north of
Waynetown. She was a member of the Liberty Ladies Aid. She was educated at Noblesville
and moved to Montgomery County 57 years ago. Surviving are two sons, Forest Bolen of Rt 2,
Waynetown and Leland; two daughters, Mrs. Carrie Merrell of Rt. 2, Waynetown and Mrs.
Gertrude Hayes of Crawfordsville; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and three
sisters, Mrs. Vina Jones of Denver, Colo, Mrs. Nellie Messick of Rankin, Ill and Mrs.
Pearl Bohn of Curlew, Iowa. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, a sister and
three brothers. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Servies Funeral Home with
Rev. John Servies officiating and interment in Waynetown masonic Cemetery.
