Attica---Austin Leroy Fenters, 85, 102 W. New St., Attica, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at
the Alward Nursing Home where he had been a patient one day. A native of Warren County, he
was born Oct. 12, 1882, the son of Enos and Elmira Leeper Fenters. His marriage in 1909
was to Maude M. Oland. He was a former member of the K of P Lodge in Attica and the Modern
Woodmen of America. He was employed many years by the White City Laundry in Attica. He
retired after 19 years employment at Harrison Steel. He was a life resident of Attica. He
had been in declining health four years and serious the last few weeks. Surviving are his
wife;a daughter, Mrs. George Miller, Attica; two sons, Lowell [sic s/b Noel] Dean
Fenters, Attica, and Orin [sic s/b Oran] B. Fenters, Waynetown; seven grandchildren and
one great grandchild. Final rites will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Roemer Funeral Chapel with
Rev. Harry Randolph officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Riverside
Cemetery. friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
Note: Austin was preceded in death by a daughter, Lillis Maxine Fenters Manssen (husband:
Irvin). Lillis died Aug. 1, 1943. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Clinton E.
Fenters (wife: Ruth) and a sister, Mabel M. Fenters Twiddy (husband: Lloyd).
