Crawfordsville Journal Review 30-Nov-1970 p 4 -- Cayuga - Donald Ratcliff, principal the
last 5 years of Cayuga elementary school and for 34 years an educator in Cayuga now North
Vermillion School Corp system died unexpectedly early Saturday at his home 424 Second
Street. He was born in Indiana Jan 9, 1914 to Anderson and Alvessie Caldwell Ratcliff. He
was married to Lucille Armstrong March 15, 1936. She survives. Mr. Ratcliff, a Kingman HS
graduate received his bachelor's and master's degrees at Indiana State and did
further graduate study at IU. He was a member of Indiana State Teacher's Association.
He was a membe rof the board of Milligan College at Johnson City, Tenn. Mr. Ratcliff was
a member of Cayuga Christian Church. Surviving besides his wife are nieces and nephews.
Two sisters and 3 brothers are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday
at Cayuga Christian Church where the body will lie in state for an hour from 1 p.m. Rev.
Wm. Nash will be the minister, with interment in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may
call at Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman at 2-4 and 7-9 today.
